About the Centre

Carina Community Centre provides a practical and accessible space for community use.  This privately managed, not a council or public facility is available for hire on a scheduled basis, the Centre accommodates regular and casual bookings, with hire fees and times varying according to the needs of each group.

The Centre encourages community participation in a welcoming, safe environment for groups of different sizes and purposes. Rooms and facilities are designed to support a variety of activities.

MAIN HALL (Schedule MH)

    The Main Hall features a beautiful timber floor – the hall floor is constructed with traditional high oil content timber which means it cannot be sealed.
    This specialized flooring:
    – Is vulnerable to permanent staining from any liquid, chemical, or food contact
    – Cannot be effectively cleaned once stained – requires professional treatment
    – Will absorb food, oils, beverages, and liquids causing significant detriment
    – Is extremely costly to remediate
    – Hence no food, drink, liquid, or other substance capable of causing damage is permitted here

    The ADJACENT connecting room is available for food and drink access, if required with the hall.

    Includes adjacent joining activity room that is fit for food and drink along with table and chair seating if required. (seating at tables for 48 comfortably, more theater style)

    • On-site parking is available, including accessible bays.
    • Additional street parking is located in surrounding streets.
    • The Centre is accessible by bus, with stops located within walking distance for convenient public transport access.
      (5 minute walk from STOP 36 – Pembroke Street)
      (9 min walk from STOP 35 – Old Cleveland Road)

    Park Surrounds
    The Centre is set alongside established local parkland, with nearby green spaces, walking paths, playgrounds and recreational areas. This provides a pleasant setting for visitors and contributes to the welcoming community-focused environment.
    There is a closed “dog park” close by, but please note that animals are not permitted in or outside the building. (assistance animals exempt)
